Building upon decades of research and over $7 million in venture capital and Federal R&D grants, Emrgy is preparing for revenue pilot installations with committed municipal and utility customers in 2016 with several commercial sales in the pipeline for 2019.
About The Work:
The primary responsibility of the Product Engineer is to oversee the design of fluid power systems and structures, as well as performing hydrologic surveys of customer sites estimating the hydropower resource. This position will play an integral role in evolving Emrgy’s CFD and simulation program to advance and optimize hydropower system design. While performing near field & far field CFD simulations, it will be important for you to understand open channel flows, canals, conduits, stream systems, and how to design efficiently for them.
The ideal candidate will be data driven in all aspects of design, and strive to understand how fluid and mechanical systems work together; using your strength in analyzing data to create technical reports and presentations. This role will help the manufacturing team implement best practices and understand key trade-offs; collaborate with product, innovation, and sales teams to understand requirements and project schedules; all while ensuring best practices are followed, documented, and reviewed consistently.
The Product Engineer will report directly to the Chief Engineer/CTO.

MS degree in engineering, preferred background in mechanical, civil, environmental
Advanced work in fluid design, fluid dynamics, hydrology
4+ years experience with a clear trend towards more responsibility
Strong team player with ability to work in cross functional teams
Experience with 3D CAD, Solidworks preferred
Experience with OpenFOAM, Simscale, cloud computing, or strong background with other advanced CFD software packages like FLUENT, NUMECA, STAR-CCM+
Experience with post processors and scripting in Paraview or Tecplot
Experience with programming or scripting in Excel, Matlab, or Python
Experience in wind or water electrical power systems is a plus
